Follow Your Dreams

A dream, according to Riverside Webster’s II Dictionary, is “A hope or aspiration. One that is especially lovely or pleasant.”  Thomas Jefferson was asked to pen the Declaration of Independence in June 1776. When he delivered his draft to the Second Continental Congress, it was heavily edited and greatly reduced. However, the phrase “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” was in both the original and final versions of the historic, and priceless, document. It has stood the test of time, and so does our freedom to dream.

Our forefathers knew individual citizens should have rights, and one of them is the right to follow your dreams. If you’re five, or one hundred five, let your positive imagination run free to live life and pursue your happiness.

I have enjoyed writing since a young age. I’m sure there are many who are more eloquent and intelligent, but I want to write as the Lord guides my thoughts and words and share encouraging and inspirational stories through books and screenplays. I want to follow the dream the Lord has placed in my heart, and I encourage you to do the same. The Lord gives inspiration and knowledge along with freedom and happiness.

Have you pursued your dreams? Whether it’s intellectual, like writing, or physical, like starting your own business or helping one another; be creative, positive, and follow your dreams! Be a beam of light in your circle of the world, however big or small your circle may be.

Want to share one of your dreams? I’d love to hear about it!

Bible verses: “Open your mouth for the dumb, For the rights of all the unfortunate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy.”  Proverbs 31:8-9 (NASB)
