Saving Grace

Grace, as The American Heritage Dictionary states, is “Divine love and protection bestowed freely upon mankind; an unmerited gift from God.” No matter who you are and what you have done, Jesus Christ willingly, with a crown of thorns on his head and a sword pierced through his side, hung on that old, rugged cross for you and for me. He paid the price for our sins and offered us a way to receive eternal life.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NASB)

Jesus died to offer us saving grace. Although we probably won’t ever hang on a cross for the world to see, Christians still face ridicule and persecution today. As the Lord is our Example, we should stand out from the worldly crowd, continue to read the Holy Bible, pray, stay strong in our beliefs, and be a witness wherever we go.

Death couldn’t keep Jesus in the tomb. As we face ridicule, opposition, and corruption in our daily lives; remember, Jesus defeated death and cares about each of us. As we celebrate Jesus’ Day of Resurrection this month; we should feel joy that He is not in the grave; He lives!

“…He has risen; He is not here…” Mark 16:6 (NASB)
